Arts Advocacy Day is the one day each year that arts advocates, organization leaders, and patrons come together to speak with our Nebraska legislators about the importance of supporting the arts and arts education in our state. Registration is only $10 to cover the cost of lunch and refreshments. All are welcome to attend! Click here to register.
Arts Advocacy at the Capitol | Warner Chamber, State Capitol
The event starts at 9:00am with an opportunity to learn advocacy techniques from former state senators, receive issue briefs from current senators, and chances to talk directly with your state Senator. Included is a panel discussion on advocacy with former State Senators Annette Dubas, Laura Ebke, and Don Pederson; facilitated by Suzanne Wise/Nebraska Arts Council; and current State Senators briefing you on arts-related bills they are sponsoring.
Networking & Workshops at the 1526 Building
The event moves to the 1526 Building, across the street from the State Capitol, for lunch, the opportunity to network with your peers, and a series of workshops.

Creative Coalitions: Lessons from the Field | noon-1:00pm
Learn how organizations in different communities in Nebraska are partnering to leverage resources in bringing the arts to their patrons. Presenters include Jamie Ulmer & Morrie Enders/Lincoln Theatre Alliance, Audrey Kauders & Judy Rozema/Kearney Cultural Partnership, and Alex Jochim & Caitlin Little/Benson First Friday.
Arts Accessibility | 1:00pm-2:00pm
Panel members (Carolyn Anderson/WhyArts, Morrie Enders/Lincoln Community Playhouse, Fran Sillau/Circle Theatre & The Rose Theatre) share meaningful, relevant ways to make your arts programs more accessible. Panel facilitator: Robin Richards, Nebraska Arts Council.
