2021 Nebraska Arts Advocacy Day

Nebraska Arts Advocacy Day is an opportunity for arts educators, administrators, and enthusiasts from across the state to come together to receive legislative updates, network with peers, and voice their support of the arts to elected officials.
This year’s event will take place virtually on Wednesday, February 17th.
Session One: State and Federal Updates
9:00 – 9:15 am Welcome from NFTA’s Interim Executive Director, Skyler Dykes, and Board President, Rex Barker
9:15 – 9:45 am Keynote Speaker: Nina Ozlu Tunceli, Executive Director of Americans for the Arts Action Fund
9:45 – 10:30 am Issues Briefing
10:30 – 10:40 am Recognition of the 2021 NebraskaARTS Awards Recipients
10:40 – 10:45 am Closing Remarks
Session Two: Advocacy Training
11:00 – 11:20 am Advocacy Training with Jo Giles, Coalition for a Strong Nebraska

Session Three: NAC Water Cooler Session (Thursday, February 18th @ 1:00 pm CST). REGISTER HERE.
Session Two is designed to prepare arts advocates for meetings with their State Senators. This year, those meetings will take place virtually February 18th – March 5th in small district cohorts (you will be asked for your availability in the Registration Form below). Register by Friday, February 5th to have your availability taken into priority consideration.
